About Brett Nuckles

A lifelong artist, Brett Nuckles began his professional career in 2019 after a previous life as a journalist. He trained at Georgetown Atelier in Seattle, Washington, working in charcoal and oil on canvas in an imaginative realistic style. He has since worked in a range of styles, most recently focusing on a more cozy and fantastical approach inspired by the works that first made him fall in love with art: Secret of Mana, Legend of Zelda, Studio Ghibli.

In 2022 Brett joined Visionary Realms, working on their MMO Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. There he played a key role in developing the game's signature art style. Previously, he worked on the mobile game End of the Line: The New Age with Legio Vox Studios. As a freelancer, his clients include: Longdue, on their upcoming RPG Hopetown; Syndicate Atomic, on an unannounced project; and promotional art for a variety of indie games published by Astra Logical. He also teaches teen art classes in gouache, watercolor, oil, figure drawing and digital arts.

Brett lives in Seattle, WA with his wife and son. When he's not painting or sketching, he enjoys watching competitive Super Smash Brothers and indie sci-fi films.
